Bio: Robyn Hendrix is an emerging artist who creates textured watercolor paintings of whimsical imagery inspired by landscape, nature and biology. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from Carleton College in 2005 and has lived in the Twin Cities since 2006. Her work is informed by an upbringing in the Palouse region of Eastern Washington, time spent abroad in Ecuador and Australia, a strong environmentalist and feminist sensibility, and a passion for education and community development fueled by extensive work in the fields of childcare and social service. She serves as a Board Member and Co-Chair of the Exhibitions Committee for the Women’s Art Resources of Minnesota ( WARM), manages social media for the Irrigate project, and is a 2013 Intermedia Arts Creative Community Leadership Institute fellow. Upcoming Exhibits & News: Robyn helped coordinate the upcoming 40th Anniversary Exhibit of the Women's Art Resources of Minnesota, which will include two of her watercolor paintings. She was quoted in a Star Tribune article by Mary Abbe that featured the WARM@40 Anniversary Exhibit and the highly anticipated show at the U of MN's Katherine G. Hash gallery, The House we Built: Feminist Art Then & Now, which runs through February 23rd. WARM has been in conversation with Howard Oransky at the Nash and curator Joyce Lyon in hopes that these exhibits may complement and intersect with each other, bringing to light the legacy and current presence of feminist art practice locally and nationally.
